The Kansas Department for Children and Families maintains the Adult Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation Central Registry. This registry identifies, after due process, persons substantiated for the abuse, neglect or financial exploitation of adults.
As of June 1, 2026, the request process for background checks against the Adult Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation Central Registry is now digital. Access the portal here. After July 1, 2026, requests will no longer be accepted through the previously used paper form and must be submitted through the portal.
Adult Protective Services works with other local agencies to help adults at risk. These adults may be unable to protect themselves from harm. If you suspect an adult might be at risk, report your concerns by calling the Kansas Protection Report Center at: 1-800-922-5330.
