Home Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer


The Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) program is now available to all qualifying families of school-aged children and those under the age of 6 years old who receive Food Assistance (also known as SNAP) benefits. The Child Care P-EBT and Supplemental P-EBT benefits will provide additional nutritional resources to Kansas Families.

Child care P-EBT:
  • Who: Children under the age of 6 who receive regular Food Assistance benefits between Aug. 1, 2022 to May 11, 2023
  • Benefit amount: Amount of benefit will vary, depending on how many months a child received Food Assistance benefits 
  • Distribution timeline: Beginning week of Aug. 14, 2023


Supplemental P-EBT:
  • Who: School-aged children who received free or reduced-price school meals during the 2022-2023 school year.
    • Children who attend virtual school or are homeschooled are not eligible for Supplemental P-EBT
    • Children who attended a Head Start program and are eligible for free or reduced-price school lunch, are not eligible for Supplemental P-EBT. 
  • Benefit amount: Each eligible child will receive a benefit of $120
  • Distribution timeline: Due to complexity of gathering necessary data, benefits will be distributed in two phases:
    • Phase one: Auto-issuance of benefits to families known to DCF, January 2024
    • Phase two: Families may request benefit using online portal, February 2024
