Topeka – For the past eight months, Kansas citizens have had a toll free
number to call for questions regarding their child support case, thanks to the
state’s new Child Support Enforcement (CSE) customer service call center. The
call center, located in Halstead, KS, began a phased implementation last
September. All regions have now been successfully launched and the call center
is officially ready to receive calls from customers across the state.
The call center was established to improve customer service and to utilize
CSE case worker’s time more efficiently. Call center staff are available to
answer most questions callers have, allowing more time for CSE staff to
concentrate on case work, such as locating missing parents, establishing
paternity, and establishing and enforcing support orders.
The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS) partnered
with USA 800, an employee-owned, inbound customer service center to manage the
“USA 800, the company contracted to operate and run the CSE call center, has
exceeded our expectations for the call center roll out” said Don Jordan, SRS
Secretary. “The services provided by the call center have improved the level of
service provided to Kansas citizens and allowed field staff to devote more time
to case work.”
“SRS Child Support Enforcement has been a true partner and our collective
efforts have allowed for a highly efficient rollout of an extremely complex
customer service initiative. We would like to thank Jim Robertson (Kansas CSE
Director) and his team for their tremendous support” said Tom Davis,
President/CEO of USA 800.
The contract required USA 800, Inc. to establish the call center in a rural
Kansas community and the company chose to partner with Harvey County to locate
the call center in the city of Halstead. The new call center has hired and
trained 35 employees at its Halstead location.
Rep. Don Schroeder, R-Inman, applauds the success of the call center. “From
the very beginning, I was impressed by the comfortable atmosphere and efficiency
of the Kansas CSE Call Center as well as the competency of the staff. I am
confident the people of Kansas will be well served by the expansion of this
facility to serve all of Kansas. I am also pleased with the economic development
opportunities the CSE Call Center provides for the Halstead community.”
"The establishment of the call center in Halstead has been a great success,”
State Senator Carolyn McGinn, R-Sedgwick, “creating new jobs within the
community and also increasing both access to and efficiency of a valuable state
service for all Kansans."
