Newsroom SRS awards foster care and adoption contracts for 2010

Topeka – The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS) announced today the award of family preservation, foster care and adoption contracts  effective  for state fiscal year 2010 (July 1, 2009).  Contractors have been chosen to provide services throughout each of the five SRS catchment areas:

Contracts were issued for a four year period, each with the possibility of two, two year renewals.

The Kansas Children’s Service League (KCSL) will provide adoption recruitment outreach and maintain the state’s Adoption Resource Exchange, to facilitate the adoption matching process for children and adoptive parents.

Changes in service providers will affect two regions.  St. Francis Community Services will assume responsibility for family preservation services in region three, previously provided by TFI, Inc.  TFI, Inc will assume responsibility for foster care services in region three, previously provided by KVC Behavioral Health Care, Inc.  Transition services in these regions will begin in January 2009.
