Shari Campbell named SRS West Region Director

Topeka – The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS) announces the appointment of Shari Campbell to the position of Regional Director for the SRS West Region.  She succeeds Robena Farrell who is retiring from SRS in December following 31 years of devoted public service.

Shari has been the Rehabilitation Services (RS) Program Administrator for the West Region since 2003.  She also led the Hutchinson SRS RS team as RS Chief for four years and was a rehabilitation counselor in Liberal for eight years.

“Shari’s experience and leadership skills, as well as her commitment to the communities of Western Kansas are assets to the department,” said SRS Secretary Don Jordan, “I look forward to working with her in her new role as Regional Director.”

She is known for her collaborative spirit, her dedication to excellent customer service, and her facilitative approach to service integration.  She represents SRS on the local workforce investment board of Local Area I and has played a key role in designing services to foster strong employment outcomes for Kansans.    Her success as a teacher and coach in Kansas and Texas are reflective of her commitment to individual and team development, recruitment and training.

Shari holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Oklahoma Panhandle State University and received her Masters degree in Education from West Texas A & M University.  She was credentialed as a Certified Public Manager by the State of Kansas and University of Kansas in 2001.  She is a Kansas native, growing up near Manter in rural Stanton County.  She currently makes her home in Lakin and enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

Shari will maintain an active presence in the 46 county/10 service center region, with a base in the Garden City Service Center and will assume her new position December 17.
