The Department for Children and Families is dedicated to keeping kids safe, both through prevention and investigation. Reporting suspected cases of child abuse is so very important. Some indicators of abuse include sudden changes in a child’s behavior or school performance, a child with untreated medical problems or a child who is overly compliant, passive or withdrawn. DCF social workers are available to help. You may report suspected child abuse and neglect by calling 1-800-922-5330.
