Newsroom SRS Secretary Gilmore names Mike Myers head of KC Region

TOPEKA – Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services Secretary Phyllis Gilmore on Monday named Mike Myers to serve as Regional Director of the Department’s Kansas City Region.

Myers, who has been acting regional director since February, has more than 30 years' experience in management, human resources, budget planning and implementation, and business administration in Kansas. He is a graduate of Washburn University and a former member of the Kansas Army National Guard. Myers served on the site selection committee of the Topeka Chamber of Commerce and as president of the Washburn Rural High School Booster Club.

“Mike has done a superb job as acting director of the region. He brings a wide range of experience to this position, along with a great deal of common sense,” Secretary Gilmore said. “When I served as Kansas City Regional Director and Mike was our chief of operations, I was impressed with his judgment and empathy for our clients.”

“SRS is fortunate to have an individual of this caliber on board,” Gilmore added.

SRS’s Kansas City region encompasses Johnson, Wyandotte, Atchison, Leavenworth and Douglas counties, serving more than 97,000 client cases.  The Kansas City Regional Center is located at 8915 Lenexa Drive, Overland Park, KS 66214. Other offices in the region are located in Atchison, Lawrence, Leavenworth and Kansas City.
