TOPEKA – Department of Social and Rehabilitation
Services Secretary Phyllis Gilmore on Monday named Mike Myers to serve as
Regional Director of the Department’s Kansas City Region.
Myers, who has
been acting regional director since February, has more than 30 years' experience
in management, human resources, budget planning and implementation, and business
administration in Kansas. He is a graduate of Washburn University and a former
member of the Kansas Army National Guard. Myers served on the site selection
committee of the Topeka Chamber of Commerce and as president of the Washburn
Rural High School Booster Club.
“Mike has done a superb job as acting
director of the region. He brings a wide range of experience to this position,
along with a great deal of common sense,” Secretary Gilmore said. “When I served
as Kansas City Regional Director and Mike was our chief of operations, I was
impressed with his judgment and empathy for our clients.”
“SRS is fortunate to have an individual of this caliber on
board,” Gilmore added.
SRS’s Kansas City
region encompasses Johnson, Wyandotte, Atchison, Leavenworth and Douglas
counties, serving more than 97,000 client cases. The

Drive, Overland Park, KS 66214. Other offices in the region are located in
Atchison, Lawrence, Leavenworth and Kansas City.
