Mission Statement

The Kansas Child Welfare Professional Training Program (KCWPTP) mission is to promote the delivery of high quality, culturally responsive, family-centered services to children who have experienced, or are at risk of abuse or neglect, and their families. We provide competency-based training primarily to the child welfare professionals who serve them. We collaborate with other service providers to promote the delivery of competency-based training. We advocate for public policy and practice standards that reflect best child welfare practice. The mission of the Kansas Child Welfare Professional Training Program (KCWPTP) Steering Committee is to provide the oversight and evaluation, strategic and program planning, and governance of developmental activities and operations necessary for the KCWPTP mission.
 
Purpose

The purpose of the Kansas Child Welfare Professional Training Program (KCWPTP) is to provide competency-based training for child welfare professionals and supervisors, and other populations as required to meet state and federal child welfare goals and outcomes. The purpose of the KCWPTP Steering Committee is the oversight and evaluation, strategic program planning, and governance of developmental activities and operations for child welfare training in Kansas.
