Regional Training Centers (RTC)
For child welfare training purposes, Regional Training Centers (RTC) have been established in each of the four DCF regions (East, West, Wichita, Kansas City), with prospects of adding two-three additional training centers in the West Region and one additional training center in the East Region. The initial RTCs are: Kansas City, Topeka, Hays and Wichita.
RTC responsibilities include securing facilities suitable for conducting training, providing administrative services related to the conduct of training, analyzing training needs of workers and worker supervisors employed by and contracted with the department in the training region served by the center and coordinating training with the designated training coordinator.
RTCs will serve as hubs for face-to-face training. This will provide opportunity for staff in the regions to attend face to face trainings at a location closer to the office they are housed in, thereby reducing regional travel costs.
